We’re proud to share that a number of Eque2 clients have recently been named winners of 2017 Construction News Awards in their respective categories, whether for outstanding projects or commitment to ethical and social causes.

Wates Group

Wates Group, users of Eque2’s construction accounting software, were selected by the Construction News Awards as Contractor of the Year and described as ‘an exemplar firm’ that had ‘an exceptional year’. The judges praised Wates Group’s impressive turnover increase of 20.4% from the previous year, and lauding the company’s ability to achieve growth without sacrificing staff training or environmental action.

Standout projects completed by Wates Group, and contributing to the judges’ decision, include work in the Houses of Parliament, the BREEAM Outstanding Central Square in Leeds and delivering the largest repair and maintenance contract in Europe for Birmingham City Council.

Skanska

Skanska Civil Engineering’s three-year project to ease congestion at junction 19 of the M1, a spot notorious for traffic build-up, was chosen as the Construction News Awards Project of the Year. Skanska, who use Eque2’s construction accounting software, completed work under budget and ahead of schedule. The improvements made by the project have reduced journey times for 150,000 daily road users.

The scheme was praised not only for keeping roads open during construction of a three-level junction, a dual carriageway and six new bridges, but also for Skanska’s engagement with the local community; dedication to health, safety and wellbeing; and also innovative use of Google Street Car to survey the area.

Lendlease

Australian firm Lendlease were awarded Best Residential Developer after impressing judges with their consistent focus on sustainability, innovation and diversity. The company, who use Eque2’s EValuate estimating software, headed up the Elephant Park development in Southwark, London, which is the only UK scheme included in the C40 Climate Positive Development Programme.

As well as impressive projects recognised by RIBA and awarded the Stirling Prize in 2016, Lendlease has a company-wide target of 50:50 gender representation and their commitment to staff mental health and wellbeing added to the firm’s credentials.

We’re delighted to see Eque2 software helping our customers achieve their goals and have their accomplishments recognised formally with awards. Both construction accounting software and estimating software can save construction companies time and money and help businesses reach new heights.
