McGowan Environmental Engineering Ltd

Prior to selecting Construct for Sage 50, McGowan used QuickBooks Pro for their accounting needs alongside manual spreadsheets for all the businesses construction-specific job costing processes. The business’ main issues stemmed from the limited construction functionality in QuickBooks, which meant it had to manage all aspects of applications and purchasing manually. This also meant the business had no construction-specific reporting available. McGowan called in Eque2 to demo its popular job costing solution, and shortly after made the decision to implement Construct for Sage 50. McGowan also purchased the Mobile Time Sheet and Delivery Note Apps alongside Construct, and now look forward to using one system for all its accounting and contract costing needs. With the ability to pull relevant reports at the click of a button, to track applications and match purchase orders in one integrated system, the business will have the information it needs to support decision making, with far less administration.

J P F Systems Ltd

J P F used Sage Accounts for their accounting processes alongside Sage Projects and numerous spreadsheets for their contract job costing needs. The main challenge was the lack of integration between its processes, which was leading to the duplication of both effort and data in the accounts team. Furthermore, the business also recognised the need to update its current contract costing solution Sage Job Costing, which is no longer supported and contained limited construction-specific functionality. Reporting was also a major headache for J P F as the team found it difficult to pull reports, which were also non-construction-related. J P F called in Eque2 to demo Construct for Sage 50 and made the decision to implement soon after. The business recognised how Construct would provide one integrated solution for job costing, through to final accounts, which meant data only has to be entered once in one system, reducing duplication and efforts. J P F will also benefit from Construct’s built-in construction-specific reports, which are exportable at a click of a button.

Profixed were using Sage 50 Accounts alongside manual spreadsheets before the business called in Eque2 to demo its Construct for Sage 50 job costing solution. Using the previous processes caused the business several key challenges which it wanted to resolve, especially whilst the business continues to expand. Reporting was a key challenge for the business, with staff frustrations rising due to the amount of time it was taking to pull any meaningful data and use it before it was dated. The business also had no control over purchasing linked to budgets, and no visibility on committed and accrued costs against budgets.
