Find out why Landform Consultants Ltd Implemented Construct

Landform Consultants Ltd (Landform) are an award-winning Design and Build Landscaping company based in Chobham, Surrey. The company offers a range of services including design, construction, maintenance for custom projects, working within the private, public and commercial sector.

Home to an experienced, client focused team, Landform are committed to producing and maintaining high quality landscapes, winning a number of prestigious awards in the process, such as at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, the Association of professional landscapers (APL) awards as well as BALI.

We spoke to Rudi Swanepoel, Commercial Director at Landform to discuss the reasons the business chose to implement Construct for Sage 50, along with our ICA Reporting, and Invoice Capture modules.

 

Challenge

We asked Rudi, how the business previously managed job costing and what frustrations the business was facing. Rudi responded, “We used Sage Job Costing, however because we are primarily a construction company, the system had a lot of fall downs; for example, we couldn’t have open orders for bulk order deliveries, there was no plant hire functionality, and Work in Progress reports weren’t very visible”.

 

Integration with Sage

“A key reason we chose Eque2 was because our accounts team is already familiar with Sage accounts, and the integration offered by Eque2 was very important to us. We required a system that offered more functionality than Sage Job Costing but something that could still work and integrate with Sage”.

 

Fast Implementation

“The speed of implementation was also a key deciding factor, with Eque2 it would take us a matter of days, however some systems appeared to take months to implement. Plus, we also felt the learning curve would be ok as colleagues are already very familiar and confident using Sage”.

 

Reduced Duplication

Landform are hoping to cut out duplication by using Construct as they will no longer need to re-key information from one system or spreadsheet into another.

Rudi commented, “Once Construct is up and running, I think it will save us the need to recruit at least one person for the next million or two pounds of turnover – saving us money while we grow. Another important benefit of Construct will be by providing us with better business analysis of where things go wrong or right to support decision making”.

Landform also purchased the Invoice Capture module to further save time and improve access to key documentation. “The Invoice Capture module will allow us to find invoices by clicking through the software, rather than going to a traditional file. We also purchased the ICA Reporting module to help us pull various different types of reports to analyse costs and drilldown into information as required”.

 

A Hosted Solution

“We decided to utilise Eque2’s hosting service for our new Construct system as we recently retired our server and the option and flexibility to purchase a hosted solution meant that staff can access the system from home, making it easily accessible from anywhere”.

“As part of our push towards becoming a more paperless office, we also want to look at the Mobile Delivery Notes app so that we can capture what turned up on-site against what was ordered, and attach delivery dockets to the system for future reference”.
