This month, we’ve spoken to many companies expressing their frustrations with their existing processes; it’s clear that spreadsheets are becoming an obsolete tool for many businesses.

More companies are choosing Eque2’s Construct for Sage Accounts to replace their manual processes and increase efficiency and accuracy across their business. What do you think? Do you think using spreadsheets is an out-of-date method?

Discover below why companies are choosing to move from spreadsheets to Construct for Sage.

McGill Facilities Management LTD

McGill is a contractor, refurbishment and fit-out specialist company based out of Dundee. Working in both public and commercial sectors, they pride themselves on being trade experts committing to delivering large scale contracts on time, on budget and to the highest standard.

Over the last few years, McGill has grown sevenfold, expanding into different work and opening several offices. However, with the business growing it became apparent that using spreadsheets to manage their construction-specific job costing processes would not be able to hold up with their expansion. They found that it took way more time than necessary to carry out key tasks on spreadsheets.

So, McGill took to the software market. After discovering Eque2, an online demonstration was quickly organised. Throughout the demo, they saw how Construct for Sage tackles the outlying issues they had including the ability to track project variations in finite detail and the ability to approve invoices in one system.

McGill chose to implement Construct for Sage accounts, alongside an additional Invoice capture module to help store, view and search for documents in Construct for Sage as well as move a towards paperless office with its scanning, importing and archiving features.

They now have improved efficiency, the ability to access track project variations in real-time and live job-costing.

Doswell Projects LTD

Doswell are premier house developers who have vast amounts of experience in dealing with various types of landowners requirements and pride themselves on the capability to provide a personable service. Based out of Winchester, their area of operations cover Bournemouth, Chichester, Newbury and Farnborough.

Before Eque2, Doswell were using Sage accounts alongside spreadsheets. However, they were finding duplications was becoming a large issue amongst many processes, which lead to invoice approvals being delayed.

Upon entering the software market, Doswell organised several online demos. After receiving a demo from Eque2, Doswell saw why Eque2’s Construct for Sage Accounts is a step above the rest. With the ability to manage part payments which can’t be done in Sage, alongside the ability to integrate with their current accountancy package Sage, choosing Eque2 meant Doswell wouldn’t have to worry about changing their accounts package, and instead focus on the more important work at hand.

After the demo, Doswell Projects chose Construct for Sage. Now, they have visibility of their original budgets and can track costs against it whilst monitoring variations and retentions. They can also deal with part payments and pull their existing data from Sage.
